Stephen has been marked for the top level since schoolboy days when he was considered by many as head-and-shoulders above the rest. After spending a lot of 2022 in the Ireland squad without making his way into the playing XI, was finally given his chance in 2023 when he enjoyed a run of matches in T20s and ODIs.
Originally from Rush in North Dublin, Stephen made the move to play for North West Warriors in 2018 after finding it difficult to nail down a spot in the all-conquering Leinster Lightning side for whom he debuted in 2017. The move proved an astute one as he was given a spot up the top of the order for the Warriors.
Doheny took up wicketkeeping later in his career to add to his skills, and takes the gloves for the Warriors as well.
