The Ground

Oak Hill is one of the most picturesque cricket grounds in Ireland, with grass banks all-round the ground. It’s countryside setting in the Wicklow mountains give wonderful views of the surrounding area.

A little history

Oak Hill Cricket Ground was constructed in 2008 by businessman Peter Savill on his stud farm. It was officially opened on 22 June 2008, as an Ireland XI played a Lashings XI. The pavilion is an exact replica of the one at Ampleforth College in England where Savill was educated.

The ground regularly hosts domestic matches in both the Men’s Inter-Provincial and Women’s Super Series competitions, along with numerous Ireland Wolves and underage internationals. Ireland Men also hosted South Africa A at Oak Hill in 2012.

Location: Oak Hill Cricket Club, Kilbride, Co Wicklow (Eircode: A67 KX70)

How to get here

Drive:

  • From Dublin, head southbound on the M50 (M11). Take Exit 18 off the M11. Drive straight on through two roundabouts. Take the first left about 450 metres further on, then drive about 2km down a country road. Turn left at the junction and then take the second right – through a gateway. Once inside drive through the gate on the right-hand side and you will arrive at the ground.
  • There is unfortunately no public transport that will take you to the ground.
