Find out how to begin coaching or how to further progress your coaching career.
Coaches play so many roles - they inspire, motivate, lead, mentor, guide, shape, educate, train, and teach.
There are a number of courses to get you into coaching or to help you further develop your coaching career.
Activators is our first step on the coaching journey. Activators must be aged 14 years and up and support the delivery of Smash It and It’s Wicket! programmes.
Activators need to be well organised, enthusiastic, energetic, personable, and self-aware. Specific expertise in cricket is not required to be a successful activator. An ability to set up and run small-sided games and skills practices, and to communicate well, are the priorities.
The games and practices have been specifically designed to do the coaching – regular coaching interventions are not required. The emphasis is on the activator’s communication and leadership skills, rather than technical or tactical knowledge.
The activator course is a blended version of online learning through mycricketlearning.ie and a 2 hour face-to-face practical with an experienced Coach Developer.
The Cricket Ireland Coaching Kids 5-11 years course is aimed at parents, teachers, and young adults supporting cricketers aged 5-11 years.
